safer neighbourhood teams - update

Meeting: 08/06/2010 - St. Helier, The Wrythe and Wandle Valley Local Committee (Item 378)

safer neighbourhood teams - update

Verbal updates from the Safer Neighbourhood Teams.

Minutes:

Inspector Ian Tyre and Sergeants Tom O’Donoghue (Wandle Valley), Jon Eames (The Wrythe) and Dave Glennon (St Helier) attended the meeting to introduce themselves and to give updates from each wards Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Sgt O’Donoghue reported that the camera for the London Road bridge would be raised at the next ward meeting, as a priority, when they would look at the suitability of a rapid deployment camera in that location.

Sgt Glennon gave the priorities for St Helier SNT as:

  • anti social behaviour by youths at Rosehill
  • anti social behaviour around Cheshire House, and
  • theft from motor vehicles.

Sgt Eames gave the priorities for The Wrythe SNT as:

  • theft from motor vehicles,
  • burglary
  • youth engagement, and
  • youth disorder.

It was reported that, following the last meeting of this committee where a resident raised an issue of what appeared to be a dangerous dog, the SNT had seized a pit bull.

Resolved: To thank all the Safer Neighbourhood Teams for the work they do and for their involvement with this committee.
